On April 2, 2025, the Trump administration announced that, starting on April 5, it was using IEEPA to impose a 10% tariff on nearly all countries. Recently, the Supreme Court recently held that Trump administration did not have authority to do so, meaning these tariffs were collected unlawfully. Notably, the Supreme Court said that the businesses that paid these tariffs may be entitled to a refund.

That’s where we come in. While we don’t know exactly what the Trump administration will do, we suspect that it may implement a process similar to how businesses applied for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans.
